Start the summer season off right with a celebration of youth tennis in Rohnert Park. Young, budding, Rafa Nadals, and Maria Sharapovas can now get a jump start on learning the game this summer through classes offered by through Rohnert Park Tennis Club, and taught by Luke Chiurco. The 10 and Under Tennis movement is sweeping the nation and takes a new and better approach to introducing kids to the game. The program uses balls that are lower in compression; that bounce lower and don't move as fast so they are easier to hit. This allows kids time to get to the ball and helps them develop optimal swing patterns. The program has loaner racquets at each lesson that are sized for small hands, and players are able to play on a smaller court surface that uses shorter nets. Sign-ups are now being taken for tennis instructor, Luke Chiurco’s, Wednesday classes for juniors ages 5-14. Each sessions is 5 week’s long, and the cost is $60. For more information on youth tennis lessons and leagues, contact Tami Benson @ (707) 321-5411 or email QuickStartRPTC@gmail.com.
