Familiarize Yourself With Upcoming Rohnert Park Construction Projects

From the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety:

Construction will affect traffic along various sections of Rohnert Park Expressway east of Highway 101 from January 12, 2015 through May 2015 as follows:.

TRAFFIC UPDATE - ROHNERT PARK EXPRESSWAY WIDENING

LOCATION: Rohnert Park Expressway between Commerce Boulevard and Petaluma Hill Road

CONSTRUCTION START: January 12, 2015

DURATION: Approximately 2 weeks

WORK BEING DONE: Mountain F will be trimming trees in the median between Commerce Boulevard and Snyder Lane in advance of the planned overlay of Rohnert Park Expressway. Valley Crest Trees will be removing approximately 45 trees between Snyder Lane and Petaluma Hill Road to open the entrance intersections to the University District development. 265 existing redwood trees will remain, in this corridor, and be incorporated into the new median strip.

TRAFFIC UPDATE - ADRIAN DRIVE WATER AND SEWER PROJECT

LOCATION: Adrian Drive between East Cotati and Santa Barbara

CONSTRUCTION START: Week of January 19 or 26 and weather dependent

DURATION: Approximately 2 week

WORK BEING DONE: Cats4U and Team Ghilotti will be completing the final paving along Adrian Drive.

The work will require street closures and limited parking. Residents will be notified 72 hours in advance of parking restrictions. The City appreciates your patience as this work is completed.

TRAFFIC UPDATE - SNYDER LANE WIDENING PROJECT

LOCATION: Snyder Lane between Southwest Boulevard and Jasmine Circle

CONSTRUCTION START: Early February 2015

DURATION: Approximately 2 months

WORK BEING DONE: The City, with the school district’s permission, will be removing approximately 50 trees to allow for the widening of Snyder Lane. PG&E is expected to begin its work that will result in the undergrounding of overhead utilities in the same corridor.

LOCATION: Eastbound and westbound approaches to the SMART railroad crossing on Rohnert Park Expressway

CONSTRUCTION START: 1/12/15

DURATION: Approximately 3 days

WORK BEING DONE: Argonaut Constructors will be replacing asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks and installing truncated domes on curb ramps

LOCATION: Rohnert Park Expressway from Snyder Lane to Petaluma Hill Road

CONSTRUCTION START: 1/19/15

DURATION: Approximately 5 months, through May 2015. (Inclement weather may prolong this timeframe.)

WORK BEING DONE: Argonaut Constructors is under contract with Brookfield Homes to install new utilities

On all of these projects, there will be lane closures and occasional traffic delays. Traffic control measures will be in place to move vehicles through the work zone in a safe manner. Pedestrian traffic control measures will also be implemented, including detours to adjacent sidewalks.

For your safety and the safety of the workers, please observe a 25 MPH speed limit through the construction area. Emergency access will be available at all times.
