SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A fatal crash Friday has closed the southbound U.S. Highway 101 connector ramp to eastbound state Highway 12 in south Santa Rosa, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP Officer Jonathan Sloat said the crash involving a Ford F250 was reported at 10:10 a.m. A 76-year-old man was driving the pick-up truck when for unknown reasons he lost control in the curved area of the ramp, Sloat said.
"The truck ran off of the roadway, into the dirt median and overturned," Sloat said. "The truck was resting on its roof and the driver was unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived on scene."
The driver was freed from the wreckage, then rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
