Fire Erupts Inside Rohnert Park Home

The blaze was first reported around 10:42 p.m. in the 1300 block of Marigold Place.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Nobody was injured after a fire that appeared to start in a chimney and spread to the exterior of a home in Rohnert Park on Saturday night, according to fire officials.

The blaze was first reported around 10:42 p.m. in the 1300 block of Marigold Place. A neighbor reported seeing flames from the chimney and called 911 before helping wake up and evacuate the residents of the home.

Fire officials said crews arrived to find the outside of the chimney ablaze along with a small portion of the living room.

The homeowners told fire crews that they had a fire in the fireplace earlier in the evening but the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

Fire crews from Rancho Adobe, Rincon Valley and the Santa Rosa fire departments all assisted in extinguishing the blaze, which was under control in 15 minutes.
