Flood Warning Extended For Rohnert Park, Cotati, Central SoCo
"Streams have been slow to recede and flooding has already happened," the National Weather Service said.

CENTRAL SONOMA COUNTY, CA — UPDATED: The National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area extended a flood warning until 5 a.m. Tuesday for urban areas and small streams in Central Sonoma County.
The warning was previously extended to 6 p.m. and then 10 p.m. Monday.

"At 9:31 p.m., stream gauges remain in flood stage and stream/creek waters have been slow to recede. Flooding continues in the warned area, primarily on the Mark West and Green Valley creeks around the Forestville area.
"Some locations that will experience flooding include...Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Sebastopol, Cotati, unincorporated South Santa Rosa, Forestville and Graton."

By midday, Monday, between 6 and 9 inches of rain had been recorded in the warning area.

"Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads," the National Weather Service said. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
"In hilly terrain, there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
"Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks."
