Homicide Suspect Captured In Sacramento, Santa Rosa Police Say
Clifford Adams, wanted in connection with the death of a woman in Santa Rosa, was arrested by the Sacramento County Fugitive Recovery Team.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — A man accused of driving his car over a woman at a Santa Rosa homeless encampment, killing her, was taken into custody Tuesday in Sacramento, police said.
Clifford Adams, 53, was arrested around 5 p.m. Tuesday in northeast Sacramento by the Sacramento County Fugitive Recovery Team, a Santa Rosa police sergeant said.
The fugitive recovery team found Adams in the 5000 block of Walnut Ave. in Sacramento and took him into custody on an outstanding warrant related to the March 23 death of Kellie Jones, 43, of Santa Rosa, SRPD Sgt. Christopher Mahurin said.

Adams was being held in a Sacramento County jail on the warrant charges of homicide and attempted homicide and will eventually be transported back to Sonoma County to face the charges related to Jones' death, Mahurin said.
Jones was found unresponsive underneath a car the night of March 23 when officers responded to a report of a possible shooting at Roberts Avenue and Sebastopol Road.
Investigators believe Adams and another man got into a fight, then Adams got into his car and drove it toward the tent Jones was sitting in front of, Mahurin said.
Jones was living in the tent at the time of her death, the sergeant told Patch.
"We do not have a specific motive, but ... we believe [Adams] was possibly targeting the male victim, but only injured the male and killed [Jones]," Mahurin said.
