Man Shot Several Times In 'Targeted Incident': Santa Rosa Police

BREAKING: A reward is being offered for information in a Santa Rosa shooting Monday that left a man in critical condition.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A man was shot while sitting in his car Monday in Santa Rosa in what police believe was a targeted incident. The shooting was reported just after 3 p.m. in the 2300 block of Corby Avenue in southern Santa Rosa, according to a news release from the Santa Rosa Police Department. Officers were dispatched to the scene and found a man in the driver's seat of a car, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The man, whose identity was not disclosed, was rushed to a local hospital. He was listed in critical condition but was expected to survive his injuries, according to police.

The initial police investigation indicated the man was shot and hit several times by an unknown number of suspects.

Detectives from the Gang Crimes Team and the Violent Crimes Investigations Team have taken over the investigation and believe the shooting was a targeted incident but have yet to determine a possible motive.

The Santa Rosa Police Department is urging any witnesses of the shooting or anyone who has information about the incident to call the Gang Crimes Team at 707-543-3670. Or, confidential, anonymous messages may be left by calling 707-543-GANG (4264).

Through the Sonoma County Alliance “Take Back Our Community Program," a $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the shooting.
