Music, Films and a Veterans Celebration This Weekend!

Veterans Day Weekend features a ton of local activities, see what there is to do from all the listings on the Rohnert Park Patch events calendar.

  • The city of Rohnert Park is inviting the community out for a Veterans Day celebration Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the
  • Three of the premier Celtic harpers in the world, Patrick Ball, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter have created a dramatic ensemble Saturday evening at the that takes you deep into the myths, magic and fabled history of this most captivating instrument.
  • LUNAFEST Wine Country 2011, Sunday afternoon at the , is the only film festival in the Unites States that combines women-only filmmakers with a community fundraising campaign to raise awareness and contributions for the Breast Cancer Fund and hundreds of grass-roots, community-based organizations throughout the country.
  • Sonoma State University's Musicfest continues this weekend with a show by Adam del Monte, who plays classical and flamenco guitar at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the Green Music Center, Room 1028. SSU says "experience the breathtaking virtuosity of classical and flamenco guitarist Adam del Monte. He brings an eclectic awareness of jazz, world music and other contemporary forms to new, creative renditions of flamenco repertoire."
  • Also part of Sonoma State's ongoing music series, come out Saturday night for a show by Laxmi Ganesh Tewari, called "The Indian Way of Humbleness," beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Warren Auditorium, in Ives Hall.
    The university says the "resident ethnomusicologist Laxmi Ganesh Tewari has performed all over the U.S., Canada, Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago, Peru and India. He regularly gives concerts in the North and South Bay areas."
