For local homeowners and buyers, the sales show smaller two- and three-bedroom houses closing between the mid-$500,000s and low-$700,000s, with relatively compact lots and modern amenities like garages and cooling systems.
   

2. North Bay Nepalese Community Gathers in Santa Rosa to Support Disaster Relief (ksro.com) — A Rohnert Park-based nonprofit, United Nepalese of California, led a candlelight vigil in Santa Rosa this week, drawing local mayors including Rohnert Park's to support flood and landslide victims in Nepal. With thousands dead or missing abroad and a sizable Nepalese community here, organizers are turning a planned celebration into a sustained relief effort and urging North Bay residents to keep donating.
   

3. 3 arrested in gang-related shooting in Santa Rosa, police say (sfchronicle.com) — A Rohnert Park man is among three suspects arrested after an August shooting outside a Santa Rosa bar that police say was gang-motivated. Investigators say they later stopped the Rohnert Park resident on Highway 101, found a firearm and drugs at his home, and have now booked all three men into jail on attempted murder, gang, and narcotics-related charges.
   

4. Greg Sarris's Epic Native American Epic: The Last Human Bear (counterpunch.org) — Rohnert Park readers will recognize the local casino's origins in this deep look at tribal leader and author Greg Sarris, whose new novel intertwines Native identity, Sonoma County history, and myth. The piece revisits how he helped secure the Rohnert Park casino license amid controversy, while also exploring his personal journey, tribal leadership, and evolving views on culture, land, and community.
