Registered Sex Offender Arrested At Santa Rosa Motel
Police in Santa Rosa on Wednesday arrested a registered sex offender in connection with assaulting one of his mental health monitors.
SANTA ROSA - Police in Santa Rosa on Wednesday arrested a registered sex offender in connection with assaulting one of his mental health monitors during an altercation at a motel.
Jonathan Hoppner was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery, felony false imprisonment and violation of parole, police said.
Officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department responded Wednesday to the America's Best Value Inn at 1800 Santa Rosa Ave. on a report of a disturbance.

Two mental health support service employees reported they were just involved in an altercation with Hoppner inside one of the motel rooms.
Hoppner is a registered high-risk sex offender recently paroled to Sonoma County, police said.

Officers arrived on the scene and located Hoppner and the victims near the motel. Police said Hoppner became upset during an argument and refused to cooperate with the support service employees who had been assigned to monitor him.
Investigators determined Hoppner had assaulted one of the employees during the argument and then refused to let that employee leave the motel room.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
Hoppner is scheduled to appear in court in Santa Rosa Friday at 1:30 p.m.
