Rohnert Park Boys & Girls Club Part Of Organizational Name Change
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County has now officially changed its name to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County, which operates clubhouses and after-school programs in 11 North Bay communities including Rohnert Park, has officially changed its organizational name to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin, according to a news release Thursday, July 11.
The change was made in order to best represent the region in which youth are served, said Jennifer Weiss, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin.
"Our new name more accurately conveys the vast size of the organization now and the communities we serve in two counties," Weiss said.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin originally was formed 11 years ago when three independent Boys & Girls Club organizations in Healdsburg, Windsor and Rohnert Park merged operations.
Since then, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin has expanded operations to Cloverdale, Geyserville, Monte Rio, Guerneville, Sebastopol, Santa Rosa, Petaluma and Marin City.

The organization currently opens its doors every day after school at 42 locations in 11 different communities in Sonoma County and Marin County, including at the Rohnert Park Clubhouse on Santa Barbara Drive in Rohnert Park.
Annually, 10,000 young people attend Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin, with the goal being to unlock the limitless potential of every child visiting the clubs.
"I've had the pleasure of partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin in multiple school districts and have experienced firsthand the impact they are having on so many kids and families in our communities," said Dana Pedersen, superintendent of the Guerneville School District.
The name change does not pertain to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, which operates a clubhouse at Maxwell Farms Regional Park and at various schools in the Sonoma area.
Both Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin and Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley are nonprofit organizations that remain under the umbrella of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
