The parade, expected to last about an hour, starts at Lawrence Jones Middle School and travels south across Rohnert Park Expressway, ending at Rancho Cotate High School. Roads will be closed until all pedestrians are on sidewalks and they are safe to reopen, police said, adding that in past years, the roadway was reopened by 11:30 a.m.

Residents of Rancho Grande mobile home park will be directed northbound onto Snyder Lane. The only entrance into Rancho Grande will be from the north, and drivers will be required to speak with an officer at Keiser Road before being granted access.

Residents of Park Ridge, Americana and Brookdale apartments will be directed northbound starting at 9 a.m., and there will be no through traffic to Rohnert Park Expressway starting then.

Residents will need to drive north on Snyder Lane to Eleanor Avenue to access Country Club Drive or Golf Course Drive to access Commerce Boulevard. When entering town from Petaluma Hill Road, police said there will be limited access to northbound Snyder from Rohnert Park Expressway.

Accommodations will be made for those needing to access Redwood Park Estates and Medical Center Drive. Residents coming from those areas will be directed north on Snyder, and while the parade is in progress, expect delays at Lawrence Jones Middle School.

"Thank you for your patience as we conduct our annual Founder’s Day celebration," the department said. "Please join us at the parade and at the community center after the parade for a fun-filled day of celebrating Rohnert Park."
