Santa Rosa Woman Killed In Novato Hit-And-Run: Sheriff
Melissa Hisel, 25, of Santa Rosa was struck on Redwood Boulevard at Rush Creek Place in Novato, authorities said.
SANTA ROSA, CA — A Santa Rosa woman was killed this week in a hit-and-run crash in Novato, authorities said.
Melissa Hisel, 25, of Santa Rosa was struck around 5 a.m. Monday on Redwood Boulevard at Rush Creek Place, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. She was found unconscious and unresponsive in the center of the roadway.
Hisel was taken to Marin General Hospital, where she died shortly after arrival, authorities said.

While officers were investigating the deadly crash, Mario Trigueros-Santos, 48, returned to the scene and told officers he had struck a pedestrian, later identified as Hisel, Novato police said.
Trigueros-Santos was arrested Monday on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and booked into Marin County Jail.
