Suspects In Rohnert Park Children Double Hit-And-Run Charged

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Sonoma County prosecutors have charged two Petaluma residents with felony hit-and-run offenses after investigators alleged they fled the scene of a Rohnert Park crash that seriously injured two children riding an electric scooter.

Tamisha Joeline Smith, 34, and Bradley Davis McCullough, 25, were each charged on July 15 with two counts of felony hit-and-run resulting in death or serious injury, according to Sonoma County Superior Court records.

Although the children survived their injuries, the charging language includes "death or serious injury." They have not been identified by name in records.

McCullough, 25, also faces a third felony charge as an accessory. Detectives allege he helped hide the vehicle to prevent authorities from finding it. He was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact and violating probation.

Both were arrested May 31, two days after the collision.

Police found the two victims May 29 at 9:30 p.m. in the roadway at the intersection of Bodway Parkway and Waterside Lane following a call to dispatchers.

They were riding together on an electric scooter when they were struck by a silver SUV vehicle.

Detectives said at the time they suspected Smith was the driver who struck the juveniles and then fled the scene, according to a news release

Smith is scheduled to appear in Sonoma County Superior Court on Aug. 17, while McCullough is due in court Sept. 8. Both have since been released from custody, The Press Democrat reported.
