The Art of Local Photography
Local artists transform the Armando Flores room into a cozy gallery.
Some of Sonoma County’s finest photographers were selected to share some of their favorite pieces with the community at the in this month. The 2011 Photography Show, presented by the Friends of the Library, is concluding its 2 week presentation this Saturday.
Eight wonderful local artists are being featured along with individual works from the Tuesday Afternoon Photography Group. The variety of styles and presentation are as varied as the subject matter included in this show.
Rohnert Park photographers Bill Nelson, Fran Russell and Martin Dawson each have artful displays on hand. The other five professionals included in the show are Nik Catalina, Lozja Mattas, William Church, Jeremy Joan Hewes and John Hirsch.

The Tuesday Afternoon Photography Group meets weekly at the Santa Rosa Senior Center to explore art and their craft. At the 2011 Show, local Rohnert Park resident Robert Meyer has his photograph on display that just won the Best of Show award at the Sonoma-Marin Fair.
Everyone is welcome to stop by and view these wonderful works as well as vote for their favorite. Each artist has provided contact information as well as a pricing list for purchasing prints of a favorite piece.

The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the library and the local community to provide programs and materials not otherwise available to the library.
The Photography Show will continue through 3 p.m. Sunday, August 27 in the Armando Flores room at the library. Admission is free.
