Violent CVS Pharmacy Robbery: Reward Offered For Information

Two men are sought in connection with robbing cash and meds from a CVS pharmacy and assaulting one of the employees, Santa Rosa police said.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Two suspects are sought in a violent robbery Friday at a CVS pharmacy in Santa Rosa, police said.

At 7:51 p.m. Friday, two suspects described as 18-year-old Black men jumped behind the pharmacy counter at the CVS at 2075 Mendocino Ave. and demanded cash and pills from the employees, Santa Rosa police Sgt. James Vickers said.

"The suspects ordered a female employee from the pharmacy area to the front of the store and demanded cash from several registers," Vickers said. "The suspects then ordered the female employee back to the rear of the store where they demanded access to a safe. When the employee was not able to comply, one of the suspects began to violently assault the female employee with his fists, causing her to require emergency medical treatment."

The female employee was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The employee was forced to provide the robbers with several types of medication, Vickers said.

The suspects were both around 5 feet 9 inches tall; one was wearing a black and gray hooded jacket and black pants, the other was wearing a black hooded jacket and bleached blue jeans, police said. Both were wearing face masks.

The robbers left through the front of the store with cash and medications and were last seen running toward Steele Lane, police said.

They were not seen arriving or leaving in a car, according to police.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered through the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund for information leading to the arrest of the suspects responsible for the robbery.
