Wanted Sonoma Co. Man Caught By Police Dog After Fleeing On Bike

A Sonoma County man wanted on outstanding warrants is accused of fleeing on a bicycle before a police dog apprehended him.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Santa Rosa man who had been wanted on several outstanding warrants is in police custody after police say he fled an officer on his bicycle before a police dog chased him down and apprehended him, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's office.

Victor Carrio, 46, was wanted on five misdemeanor arrest warrants when a deputy spotted him riding a bicycle in the 1400 block of Maple Avenue in Santa Rosa. As the deputy approached Carrio, he rode away, police said.

The deputy pursued Carrio along several more streets, attempting to conduct a traffic stop and telling him he had a K-9 in the car, according to police. Then, at the intersection of Brigham Avenue and Vallejo Street, the deputy got out of the patrol car and Carrio sped away. After chasing Carrio, the deputy ordered the dog, named Scout, to catch Carrio, and reached him when he was about 40 yards away.
