A Memorial Day Commemoration, hosted by the American Legion Post 338, to honor the men and women who have served our country, will take place at the beginning at 9:45 a.m. The Rohnert Park Community Band will perform and a color guard ceremony will take place past the Avenue of the Flags.

awards diplomas to the Class of 2011 Saturday on the University’s Commencement Lawn. Ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. for the Schools of Education, Arts & Humanities and Business & Economics. At 3 p.m., ceremonies begin for the Schools of Science & Technology and Social Sciences and last approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours. The Commencement Speaker is Morgan Spurlock, an award-winning writer, director, and producer best known for his explorations of social issues and for his feature film, "Super Size Me."
If you go: Sonoma State University is at 1801 E Cotati Ave, in Rohnert Park. The ceremonies will go on rain or shine. General seating is on a first come basis. Reservations and tickets are not needed. Seating is available for 4,000+ guests in folding chairs and on bleachers on the Commencement Lawn.

Saturday:
The Resurrection Roller Girls present the Combustin' Betties vs. Shasta Roller Derby in a live, flat-track, full-contact roller derby extravaganza! Fun for all ages! Raffle prizes and full bar.
If you go: General Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door $5 Seniors & Kids 5-12. The derby is from 7:30 pm.-10:30 p.m. at , 6100 Commerce Blvd., in Rohnert Park.
