  1. Fire crews were called to the scene of an aggressive fire in the Kaseberg Kingswood neighborhood of Roseville on Sunday night. Fire officials received several 911 calls just before 7:00, alerting authorities to the blaze. The fire was brought quickly under control, but not before the house and a neighboring one received enough damage that officials say they are uninhabitable. One person was treated at the scene and one was taken to the hospital. (KCRA Sacramento)
  2. Roseville Utilities wants you to know how to "help the birds in your neighborhood help you keep pests out of your garden and flowerbeds." Learn how to create a treasure trove of materials for birds to use to build their nests in your yard! You'll be the coolest family on the block in the bird community. Learn how at this Facebook page from the Roseville Utilities Exploration Center.
  3. Real estate sales activity in the area is now on par with the January activity we saw pre-pandemic. "The fact that new home sales are rebounding reflects the fact that so many families are looking to buy a quality new home in the region," said Building Industry Association President and CEO Michael Strech. (Gold Country Media)
  4. An El Dorado Hills mom made a “splash” on "Shark Tank" late last year! She won a $150,000 contract on the show for her business from judges Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner. And, for what it’s worth, I agree with the sharks! I think hers is a brilliant idea. She invented a device called the FireFighter1 that allows homeowners to “easily hook up a hose to their pool water pump and spray down their house” in the event of a wildfire. It took a village to get the prototype working, but now the invention is in the big time! I'm looking forward to the day that we all have one! (Village Life)
