Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. The Rivercats held a moment of silence before their game Sunday to remember Granite Bay grad and Rivercats announcer's son John Sax, who was killed in a Marine training accident last week near San Diego. The crash is still under investigation. (CBS Sacramento)
  2. A 33-year-old woman has died after falling off of a jet ski in Folsom Lake, park officials said. The call was received around 12:45 p.m. alerting authorities that a woman had fallen off the back of a jet ski and was in distress. A good Samaritan was able to pull her out of the lake, but the woman went into cardiac arrest before they reached shore. The woman was transported to the hospital where she later died, park officials said. (KCRA Sacramento)
  3. According to a press release from the City of Roseville "To continue managing drought conditions, the State of California adopted emergency drought rules in late May prohibiting watering turf used for decorative purposes (nonfunctional turf) at businesses and in common areas in subdivisions and homeowners associations. This ban does not apply to yards at homes." The State of California intends to enforce this action through reports from the public through the State's water waste reporting portal, savewater.ca.gov.   4. There is lots of fun to be had in Roseville this coming weekend! Check out Thursday Blues Night at 105 Noshery from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. "The Bollywood Blues King" will be there. On Friday it's fun at the Brickyard Counter & Bar from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. with Andy Santana and Sid Morris and then, on June 19 head out to Sac to celebrate with the Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Caesar Chavez Park from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Facebook)
  5. Wondering where the goats are grazing this week? Find out with this "goat tracker" from the City of Roseville. Goat grazing is an environmentally friendly option for open space management. Goats assist with thatch control, invasive species management and help reduce potential fire load due to dry grasses. And they're awfully cute, to boot! (roseville.ca.us)
