Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:
- A Westpark High School student has been arrested after police found a list of names in his backpack and a written reference to wanting to do them harm. According to authorities, this student had, earlier, brought a gun to school and “identified individuals they wanted to harm.” The student has been booked into juvenile hall. The parents are cooperating with police, authorities say. Students associated with the list and their parents have been notified by police. (KCRA3)
- Sunsplash opens for business on May 28, for the Memorial Day long weekend of heat! Sunsplash will be open on May 28 and 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on May 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take your turn on the Master Blaster or try the new Zoomerang, meant to mimic a bobsled ride! The waterpark will be closed on May 31 and June 1 before opening daily through June. (ABC10)
- Giddy-up! It's time, again, for the Folsom Pro Rodeo at the Dan Russell Rodeo Arena! The wranglers and rustlers will be riding into town from July 1-3. This is a don't miss event! Get ready to enjoy some mutton busting, motocross live music and keep an eye out for Flying Cowboys, Painted Ladies and the Saloon Under the Stars. Tickets online @ https://www.folsomprorodeo.com/ (Roseville Today)
- Rocklin police said Keyvan Madani, of Sacramento, was arrested as a suspect in an April hit-and-run of a bicycle rider near Rocklin Road and Pacific Street. The cyclist was seriously injured. According to police, damage to Madani's vehicle helped them identify the suspect. He has been booked into the Placer County jail. (ABC10)
- Looking for the perfect date night? A new restaurant in Folsom has you covered! Fourk Kitchen is opening a location in Folsom. It's run by the owners of Citizen Vine. The concept is awesome! It's a pre-fixe 4 course meal with a single seating each night. According to Gold Country Media "The experience at Fourk is very interactive. The night starts out with a happy hour from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Promptly at 6:30 p.m., dinner service starts with an interactive welcome from the executive or sous chef with an explanation of how the restaurant began, the artwork, menu and a team introduction. Fourk is reservations only. They are open Wednesday through Saturday nights with one 24-person seating a night." I can't wait to try it! (If I seem a little giddy... this is right up my alley. You'll see me there, for sure! I almost don't want to report this one so I can keep all of the reservations for myself!) (Gold Country Media)

Bennett’s Westside will be open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, with "a focus on freshly prepared and house made plates with American and international influences. An expansive bar will feature handcrafted cocktails, locally-sourced craft brews, and over 40 wines by the glass." (rocklin.ca.us)

- According to the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SacOG) "as of 2022 there are 672 miles of multi-use paths in our region. The Sacramento Regional Trail Network will leverage nearly 300 of those miles to make regional connections. In total, more than 800 miles will be added to the network. Of those 800 miles, 400 miles have been identified to be paved trails, 170 miles will be informal and unpaved, and 250 miles are trail study corridors that need a little more planning to determine precisely where they will be located." The project is set to be completed by 2050 and will link several counties, including Placer, along these paths. Check out a map and all of the details at this SacOG link. (sacog.org)
