- This series of storms is relentless! If you need sandbags to protect your home and property against this next wave coming today through Tuesday, two locations in Roseville are open for you to pick some up. They are: Maidu Regional Park at 1550 Maidu Drive (off of Rocky Ridge Drive) and City of Roseville Corporation Yard at 2005 Hilltop Circle (off of PFE Road). "Residents must fill sandbags themselves and each vehicle is limited to 20 sandbags per trip." (roseville.ca.us)
- The Roseville Fire Department reminds you to be safe out there on the roads during these storms! Don't go out if you don't have to. But if you are required to travel, take it slow and leave plenty of room between your vehicle and the one in front of you! (Roseville Fire Department via Facebook)
- Phase II construction at Westpark High School got a nice write-up in Comstock's magazine. If you aren't familiar with the additions to the high school, check out this article. The students are getting a beautiful new space that includes a research lab and even a broadcast studio! (Comstock's magazine)
- Asha Urban Baths is taking over the old Scott’s Seafood on Greenback in Folsom. You can soak in a big hot tub, hit the sauna or get a massage, all under the same roof. And, I have to say, the prices aren’t bad! "It will be Asha's second location in the greater Sacramento area after the first opened on 27th Street in Midtown in Nov. 2016." (ABC10)
Today in Roseville:
- Buy One Get One Free bar snacks at University of Beer in Roseville. (3:00 PM)
- "Popular local favorite, KaBang, with their beautiful harmonies and vocal stylings, presents favorite Hawaiian, pop, rock, and jazz" at The Strum Shop on Vernon Street. (6:00 PM)
- Don't miss Trivia with Chad at Red Bus Brewing in Folsom. (7:00 PM)
From my notebook:
- "Headshots for business owners, professionals and all who want to join" are being offered at the Studio Workspaces Creekside in Roseville. "When you arrive, you will get in line and get photo taken and if you like headshot you can pay $50.00. All proceeds goes to local non profit. After you take photo you will go to the networking mixer area for coffee and treats."
- Style magazine named the 25 “hottest” coffee shops in the area. My favorite coffee shop name is The Pour Choice, in Auburn. Six Roseville shops made the list. Did your favorite?
- Did you know that "Roseville's first automobile was owned by Walter Hanisch and most people transitioned from horse and buggy to the automobile between the 1920's and 1940's?" Check out one of the crazy transportation contraptions at Roseville Historical Society's Facebook page.
