🌱 Aftershock Lineup Announced + Free Museum Weekend
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sacramento.

Hey, people of Sacramento! Jeri Karges here with today's edition of the Sacramento Daily.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and cool. High: 58 Low: 26.
Here are the top five stories in Sacramento today:
- More new restaurants are opening up in West Sacramento, and city leaders are hopeful it will revitalize the city and bring in more people to explore, shop, dine and live. Franquette opened up last week in the Bridge District. It's a new French-inspired wine bar and cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owners of Franquette aren't new to the restaurant scene. They're also the creators of Canon East Sacramento — which has a Michelin rating. About a mile away, on Third Street Teriyaki Madness is being renovated and should open in the next couple of weeks. The Midway Bar and Grill is now open for business. City leaders added that with more housing developments going up this year, more and more people are excited to call West Sacramento home. (KCRA3)
- Officers are searching for the driver of a stolen pickup truck after it crashed into a business in Sacramento early Wednesday morning. The truck crashed into an antiques and collectibles store on 57th Street just before 5 a.m., and the suspect fled before police arrived. The incident is being investigated as a burglary. (KCRA3)
- Billed as the West Coast's "biggest rock festival," the Aftershock Festival announced its 2022 lineup Wednesday that includes a mix of heavy metal and hard rock bands at Discovery Park. The festival is scheduled to occur from Oct. 6 to Oct. 9 with Slipknot, Kiss, My Chemical Romance and Foo Fighters as some of the headliners. Weekend and single-day passes for the 2022 Aftershock Festival are on sale on its website. (FOX40)
- The most important aspect of crime prevention and trauma care for victims is increasing government spending on community-led programs, according to Californians for Safety and Justice executive director Tinisch Hollins. She was joined outside the Capitol in Sacramento on Wednesday by Attorney General Rob Bonta. She said residents are more informed than ever about violence in their communities due to social media. Bonta said he agreed with the sentiments of the community leaders beside him, and that community-centered programs make a difference. (ABC10)
- Each year, Free Museum Day typically draws tens of thousands of Sacramento area community members to local museums to experience the fascinating art, culture, and history of the region. This year nearly 20 local museums are collaborating to present a hybrid, two-day FREE Museum Weekend on March 5-6. Advance registration is required. Guests are able to choose in advance which museum(s) they wish to visit, in-person and/or through online virtual activities, and reserve their tickets via this webpage: www.sacmuseums.org/free-museum-weekend.
