A's honor first responders with Fire station visit on 25th anniversary of 9/11 (fox40.com) — Sacramento firefighters at Station 2 got a special 9/11 visit from A's players Lawrence Butler, Joey Estes and Luis Medina, who toured the station, tried on gear and signed autographs. The players said the experience deepened their respect for the physical demands and stress firefighters face while protecting the Sacramento community, especially meaningful on the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

Sacramento sheriff releases video of deputy fatally shooting Foothill Farms attacker (sacbee.com) — The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office has released video from a July 15 incident where a deputy fatally shot a 23-year-old man attacking a woman and her daughter with a knife in a Foothill Farms garage. The edited briefing, 911 audio and dashcam footage show the suspect's earlier disturbance at a nearby Starbucks, the random garage attack, and deputies' efforts to stop the assault and render aid.
