4. 'Joy can disrupt trauma.' Ashley Faison-Maddox builds support for trafficking survivors (sacbee.com) — A Sacramento-based survivor is using her own experience to build the Diamond Collective, a nonprofit that supports human trafficking survivors and their children across the Sacramento region. From ballet outings to kayaking and even international trips, the group focuses on joy, healing experiences, and long-term support. Her work recently earned recognition as Assemblymember Josh Hoover's 2026 Woman of the Year.

Slay Bells & Sequins at Memorial Auditorium Sacramento (Dec 5, 2026) (broadwayworld.com) — Sacramento's Memorial Auditorium will host the Sacramento Gay Men's Chorus holiday show "Slay Bells & Sequins" on Saturday, December 5, with performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Expect campy twists on holiday classics, theatrical characters like a flamboyant Rudolph, and big choral sound, with the option to avoid online ticket fees by calling the box office directly.
