2 Dead, 5 Hospitalized In Mission Beach Car Crash: SDPD
A 62-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman died in a head-on collision in Mission Beach Saturday.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two people are dead and five hospitalized after a head-on collision between two cars in Mission Beach Saturday afternoon, the San Diego Police Department confirmed to Patch.
The incident occurred at the 2900 block of Mission Boulevard, near San Fernando Place, authorities said.
The two deceased are a 62-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman: a driver and a passenger in a separate car, respectively, according to the department.

The 62-year-old was driving a Ford EcoSport, and a 41-year-old man was driving a Kia Sportage. The Ford and Kia collided head-on in the northbound lane, and the driver of the Ford and the female passenger in the Kia died at the scene, authorities said.
Two passengers in the Ford and three passengers in the Kia were transported to local hospitals. One of the passengers in the Ford sustained internal chest bleeding and one passenger in the Kia was in critical condition with multiple injuries, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Other passenger injuries were minor and alcohol is not a factor, authorities said.
