53 Birds Rescued From Overwhelmed Pet Owners In San Diego
The San Diego Humane Society removed doves, finches, lovebirds and pigeons from a house in the Bay Ho neighborhood.
SAN DIEGO, CA — The San Diego Humane Society removed dozens of birds from a San Diego home after their overwhelmed owners asked for help.
The Humane Society rescued 53 birds — including doves, finches, lovebirds and pigeons — that were living in a room in the house in San Diego's Bay Ho neighborhood, according to the agency. Staffers also found eggs in a plastic container in the home and worked to pair them with their families.
The owners will not be charged, Humane Society officials told Patch.

They appear to be in good health, Thompson said. The birds will be available for adoption after they are examined and cleared medically and behaviorally.
