Average San Diego County Gas Price Nears Record High
The San Diego County record high is $4.725 set Oct. 8, 2012.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County moved within nine-tenths of the record, increasing for the 14th time in 15 days to $4.716.
The average price has increased 9.2 cents over the past 15 days, including six-tenths of a cent Tuesday, to its highest amount since Oct. 9, 2012, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 2.8 cents more than one week ago, 8.9 cents higher than one month ago and $1.118 greater than one year ago.

"More drivers fueling up here coupled with a persistent tight supply of oil worldwide provides the recipe for higher prices at the pump," said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. "And unfortunately for consumers, it does not appear that this trend will change anytime soon."
