The Doris A. Howell Foundation Presents a Bone Health Update

Luncheon Program at La Jolla Country Club Features Two UC San Diego Medical Experts with the Newest Medical Research

The Doris Howell Foundation, dedicated to supporting cutting-edge research to advance women’s health, is presenting Bone Health Update 2022 at its Lecture Series Event on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, 11:30AM to 1:30PM. The event will take place at the La Jolla Country Club, 7301 High Ave, in La Jolla. Registration is required by Oct. 30.

In this informative session, keynote speakers, Dr. Heather Hofflich and Dr. Gina Woods, will discuss the most relevant research updates affecting women’s bone health, including strategies to manage osteoporosis and how nutrition, hormones, exercise, and medications affect bones.

Dr. Heather Hofflich is a Professor of Clinical Medicine practicing Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at UC San Diego Health System since 2008. Board certified in endocrinology and internal medicine, Dr. Hofflich is a leading San Diego expert in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis.

Dr. Gina Woods is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, and Director of the Osteoporosis Clinic at UC San Diego. She received her medical degree from Drexel University in her hometown of Philadelphia, then completed Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrinology Fellowship at UC San Diego.
