Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank Receives 640 Turkeys for Thanksgiving from Foster Farms
10,000-pound turkey donation will help local residents enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal

Today, the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank received a 10,000-pound turkey donation from Foster Farms. The donation of 640 turkeys will be distributed in the coming week to help feed local families this Thanksgiving.
While Thanksgiving is traditionally a time for families to gather around a meal, nearly 14 percent of San Diego County, or 435,560 residents, are food insecure.
James Floros, CEO of the Jacobs & Cushman Food Bank was there to receive the donation and speak about the area’s level of food insecurity. Floros encouraged all community members to donate turkeys and other foods in the coming days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Foster Farms is donating to eight food banks throughout the West Coast this Thanksgiving as part of its annual tradition to help address the growing issue of food insecurity. The company is donating a total of 4,200 turkeys – 67,000 pounds – helping to serve more than 70,000 Thanksgiving meals.
