Crews Hold Lyons Brush Fire Near Jamul to 10 Acres: Cal Fire [UPDATED]
BREAKING: The wildfire in Lawson Valley erupted just before noon Thursday, according to Cal Fire-San Diego County.

JAMUL, CA — Firefighters stopped the spread of a brush fire Thursday in Lawson Valley near Jamul to just under 10 acres, according to Cal Fire-San Diego.
The so-called Lyons Fire erupted for unknown reasons around 11:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Lyons Creek Road, quickly spreading from one-fourth of an acre to five and then 9.4 acres, the agency reported via Twitter.
As the blaze began threatening structures on Skyline Truck Trail, multiple units fought from the air and from the ground to contain it, fire officials said.

By Thursday evening, the fire was 60 percent contained.
