Man Gets Jail Time For Street Racing In San Diego: Authorities
"This sentence shows how seriously my Office, law enforcement, and the courts take these reckless incidents," the city attorney said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man who was caught street racing in San Diego has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and a year on probation, according to authorities.
Victor Manuel Guillins, 40, of Chula Vista, was found guilty by a jury of street racing, authorities said.
The case stemmed from an Aug. 29 incident, which occurred around 1 a.m. just south of the Interstate 8/Interstate 15 interchange, according to a news release Monday from San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott.

Guillins sped about 90 mph, veered between lanes and opened his driver’s side door while accelerating during the race against five other motorists, the news release said. He also fled police and was pursued by officers for nearly three minutes, according to authorities.
“This sentence shows how seriously my Office, law enforcement, and the courts take these reckless incidents on public roadways,” Elliott said in the news release. “I created a Street Racing Task Force to protect the public from drivers who recklessly endanger the lives of themselves and others.”
