Man Reportedly Killed In Valley Center Home Invasion
A 911 caller reported that a man was injured and had stopped breathing in the 15400 block of Villa Sierra Road in Valley Center.

VALLEY CENTER, CA – Deputies responding to a reported assault at a home in a rural North County neighborhood early Thursday found the body of an apparent homicide victim.
A 911 caller reported that a man was injured and had stopped breathing in the 15400 block of Villa Sierra Road in Valley Center about 5 a.m., according to sheriff's officials.
Despite lifesaving efforts by deputies and paramedics, the victim died at the scene, Lt. Kenneth Nelson said.

Homicide detectives were called in to take charge of the investigation.
The county Medical Examiner's Office will determine the victim's cause of death and positively identify the man, who was believed to be in his late 20s, the lieutenant said.

No suspects in the case had been identified as of late morning, according to Nelson.
