Health Monitoring System operating in San Diego County jails (sandiegocountynews.com) — San Diego County jails, including San Diego Central Jail and Vista Detention Facility, are expanding use of biometric wristbands to catch inmates' health problems sooner and speed up hospital care when needed. Deputies have already responded to hundreds of alerts this year, with several people receiving follow-up treatment, as Sheriff Kelly Martinez pushes broader technology upgrades in local detention facilities.
   

2. Cathedral Catholic Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. West Ranch (maxpreps.com) — Cathedral Catholic's girls varsity volleyball team from San Diego swept West Ranch 2–0, pushing the Dons to an impressive 25–5 record. The team now heads to face Christian in El Cajon on Tuesday, while another San Diego squad, Academy of Our Lady of Peace, is noted for a recent league loss.

USS Abraham Lincoln returns to US after record deployment (borderreport.com) — Sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln are finally sailing back into San Diego Bay this week after a record 321-day deployment, with families and veterans gathering along Shelter Island to welcome them home. The carrier will return to Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, following months of challenging conditions that raised concerns about mental health and supplies on board.

EECS Seminar: Agentic Design Automation for Embedded Systems: The Promise, the Peril, and the Proofs (uci.edu) — A leading UC San Diego engineering professor is giving a seminar on how AI-driven, multi-agent design tools for embedded systems can both revolutionize chip development and introduce serious security risks. She outlines potential attacks, then explores ways to build verifiable trust between automated agents using physics-based validation, hardware-software co-design, and cryptographic protections.
