San Diego County Opens Assistance Center For Storm Victims

The center will be open Monday through Wednesday at the Spring Valley County Library.

SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego County opened a local assistance center over the weekend for residents impacted by last week's historic storm.

More than 400 households visited the center Sunday at the Spring Valley County Library, according to the county. The center will reopen from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the library at 836 Kempton St.

The center offers in-person support and services from more than 25 agencies. Affected residents can learn about debris and household waste removal, erosion control, rebuilding permits, and how to replace vital records.

Representatives from CalFresh, CalWORKs and Medi-Cal will be at the center. Information and resources will also be available from the Air Pollution and Control District, American Red Cross, Contractors State License Board, Department of Insurance, Department of Motor Vehicles, Feeding San Diego, San Diego Gas and Electric, San Diego Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and other organizations.
