Oh, Baby! Take A Peek At San Diego Zoo's Newest Arrivals

This cuteness-overload photo show features 5-month-old baboon Lisa Marie, a 2-week-old takin calf, siamang Selamat and their proud mamas!

SAN DIEGO, CA – The newest arrivals born over recent weeks at the San Diego Zoo are healthy, active and showing confidence, camaraderie and a healthy dose of curiosity, according to staff.

Is it time for a zoo visit to see the adorableness in person?

The three mammal newborns, all female, include a five-month-old hamadryas baboon named Lisa Marie; a two-week-old takin calf, that still needs a name; and an endangered siamang, named Selamat.

"Baboon Lisa Marie can be seen asserting her independence as she explores her spacious habitat, often prompting mom to maintain a hold on her tail to keep the baby within reach," staff said. (SEE ABOVE PHOTO).

Panda Trek’s new takin, listed as Vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species, has established a strong bond with her mom and older sister, and can be seen following older females around her rocky habitat.

And siamang Selamat was born prematurely earlier this year, but her keepers said she’s a tough fighter, gaining strength every day and nursing well from mom, adding that she’s becoming very curious about her surroundings.

Since 2014, more than 600 mammals have been born at the San Diego Zoo, officials said.

"The births of Lisa Marie, Selamat and the yet-to-be-named takin have not only increased the population of their species, they are also adding to the species’ genetic diversity—which is vital to San Diego Zoo Global’s mission of leading the fight to end extinction worldwide," the zoo said.

Zoo guests can visit baboon Lisa Marie in her habitat inside Conrad Prebys’ Africa Rocks. The takin calf is viewable with her herd along Panda Trek, and Selamat can be seen with her mom, dad and orangutan exhibit mates on Monkey Trail in Lost Forest.
