Thanksgiving Heat Wave Smashes Records In San Diego County
NWS has records in San Diego dating back to 1874.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – It was another historically hot day in San Diego County, with several places breaking or tying all-time high temperature records.
It reached 92 degrees in El Cajon, breaking the record of 89 for this date, Nov. 24, set in 1995, according to the National Weather Service.
The records were tied in Vista, where it reached 89 degrees Friday and on this day in 1975, and in Alpine, where it reached 86 Friday and on this day in 1995.

The unusually high temperatures come at the tail end of a holiday warm- up that began Tuesday, when most areas were about five to 15 degrees above what they'd been just 24 hours earlier.

Temperatures were generally highest on Wednesday, when it reached 92 in San Diego and 98 in El Cajon.
NWS forecasted a high of 72 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday in San Diego.
"Cooler weather will gradually build from the coast to inland areas through the weekend," the NWS said. "A fast moving low pressure trough will bring much cooler but nearly seasonable temperatures on Monday with a chance of light rain showers for all areas except the deserts."
Fire crews were on heightened alert Wednesday thanks to the combination of hot, dry conditions and gusting winds. The fire risk was lower Friday, but a Santa Ana wind pattern is expected to return next week, according to the NWS.
