Woman, Man Charged With Fentanyl Sale That Killed San Diego Resident

Maegan Hobbs, 31, and David Michael Richards Hansen-Taylor, 35, are facing federal conspiracy and drug distribution charges.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman and a man accused in a fentanyl sale that killed a San Diego resident are facing federal conspiracy and drug distribution charges, according to a grand jury indictment unsealed Monday.

Maegan Hobbs, 31, of San Diego, and David Michael Richards Hansen-Taylor, 35, of Chula Vista, are accused of selling the unidentified 33-year-old victim the drugs that led to his fatal overdose in September of 2024.

The U.S. Attorney's Office alleges that the day before the victim was found dead, Hobbs messaged him "to be careful with the next stuff."
