1 Killed In SF Mission District Shooting: Police

The shooting took place in the area of 16th Street and San Bruno Avenue, police said.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police say they're investigating a shooting in San Francisco's Mission District that left one person dead Thursday night.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting. Officers responded just before 9:45 p.m. to the area of 16th Street and San Bruno Avenue, where someone was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Officers rendered aid to the victim, including CPR, until paramedics arrived and took over, authorities said. Despite their efforts, the victim died at the scene, police said.

Police did not publicly identify the person who was killed. The SFPD's Homicide Detail also responded to the scene and is leading the investigation, authorities said. As of Friday morning, no arrests have been made.
