$1M Raised To Support Latino Organizations

SAN FRANCISCO, CA —The San Francisco-based Latino Community Foundation announced Wednesday its Love Not Fear fund has raised over $1 million, which will go toward supporting 33 Latino-led grassroots organizations throughout the state.
The organizations receiving funds work on the frontlines serving the Latino community's most vulnerable populations like elderly people, undocumented immigrants, farmworkers and other working-class families, many of whom don't qualify for federally funded relief efforts.
"In our most difficult moments, we lean on the assets that make the Latino community strong — our generosity, our culture, and our resilience," Jacqueline Martinez-Garcel, CEO of Latino Community Foundation, said in a statement.

"Now, more than ever, Latino-led organizations are stepping up provide hope and healing for our families and LCF is proud to invest in their short-term relief efforts and long-term sustainability," she said.
