2 Carjacking Suspects Arrested In SF

SAN FRANCISCO — Two people were arrested Tuesday in San Francisco on suspicion of carjacking and crashing a vehicle Saturday evening.

San Francisco residents Kevin Nelson, 36, and Jennifer Bonham, 31, were both taken into custody after San Francisco police officers located them in the 1400 block of Pine Street just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Video of the car crashing down the steps of a hillside at 19th and Sanchez streets was widely shared on social media.

Nelson and Bonham had been identified as possible suspects during the investigation, according to police. They were arrested on suspicion of several offenses, including carjacking and receiving a stolen vehicle.

Nelson was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the crash.

Bonham was booked at San Francisco County Jail.
