2 Weekend Earthquakes Shake Bay Area
The quakes rattled the North and South Bay regions of the Bay Area.
BAY AREA, CA — Two earthquakes rattled the San Francisco Bay Area over the weekend.
The first quake was recorded at 12:34 p.m. Saturday a little more than 4 miles northwest of the Geysers in Sonoma County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The 4.5-magnitude quake had a depth of roughly 2 miles.
The quake was mostly felt in Sonoma County, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.

A smaller quake was reported at 2:25 a.m. Sunday almost 4 miles southwest of Gilroy, according to the USGS. The 3.2-magnitude quake had a depth of nearly 3 miles.
The quake was felt in San Benito, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.
