49ers DL Keion White Shot In SF, Undergoes Surgery
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White was shot during an early-morning shooting and underwent surgery.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA —San Francisco 49ers Keion White underwent surgery today after being shot in the ankle during an early morning incident in San Francisco, according to the team and the San Francisco Police Department.
The defensive lineman was shot at about 4:06 a.m. in the 1700 block of Mission Street after a verbal altercation between two groups inside the establishment, police said. He is not believed to have been involved in the initial altercation.
Officers responding to the scene found White suffering from a gunshot wound, provided aid, and transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the shooter remains unknown.

The 49ers said White underwent surgery Monday afternoon and that his injuries are not considered life or career-threatening. The team said it will provide further updates. Sources cited by NBC Sports Bay Area and posts on X indicated White is expected to be okay.
Hours before the shooting, White posted to his Instagram account from Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium.

The SFPD’s Strategic Investigation Unit is investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made, and the case remains open and active.
White is the second 49ers player to be shot in downtown San Francisco in the past two years. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest near Geary Street and Grant Avenue during an attempted robbery on Aug. 31, 2024. Pearsall missed the first six games of his rookie season but recovered fully and later appeared in 11 games.
