5 Hurt, 18 Displaced In Ellis Street Fire Friday In San Francisco

Two of the victims suffered critical injuries in the Western Addition-area blaze, the SF Fire Department said.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A two-alarm fire in San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood left five people injured Friday morning and 18 displaced, fire officials said.

The fire department initially wrote on social media shortly before 10:30 a.m. about the blaze at 1355 Ellis St. (Video here.)

Two people suffered critical injuries in the fire, while two had serious injuries and one had minor ones, fire officials said.

Crews contained the fire to the structure where it started and were still working to extinguish it as of about 11:15 a.m.

Officials said the American Red Cross was at the scene.
