SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, Golden State residents should know that a fiery blaze raging just northwest of Yreka in the Klamath National Forest prompted California Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency for the area on Sunday.
The fast-moving blaze, since dubbed the McKinney Fire, ignited Friday and exploded over the weekend. The blaze has chewed up over 50,000-acres of brush and triggered a slew of evacuations.
