6 Displaced After Apartment Fire In SF: FD

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Six people were displaced Friday morning after a fire damaged a multi-unit apartment building in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley neighborhood, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The one-alarm fire was reported around 6:55 a.m. on the 300 block of Raymond Avenue. Firefighters arrived within minutes to find flames burning on the second floor of the two-story building.

Crews rescued one adult from the building. The resident was evaluated by paramedics at the scene and is expected to recover but did not require hospitalization, fire officials said.

Firefighters also rescued several family pets, all of which were reported safe.

The fire was brought under control by 7:34 a.m., less than 40 minutes after it was reported.

The six displaced residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No firefighters were injured.
