80-Year-Old Woman Run Down In SF Identified

The victim was in a crosswalk when she was hit. The driver stayed at the scene.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — An 80-year-old woman who died Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Ocean Avenue in San Francisco has been identified as Candida Duazo, according to the city's medical examiner's office.

Around 9 a.m., officers responded to the corner of Ocean Avenue and Victoria Street for a report of a collision, police said.

Upon arrival, they learned that a vehicle had turned east onto Ocean Avenue from Victoria Street and struck Duazo as she was in the crosswalk.

Duazo, a San Francisco resident, was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, according to police.

The driver, a 48-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Impairment did not appear to be a factor in the collision and he was not arrested, police said.
