SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect areas near the coast to stay around normal or a little cooler than usual for the next week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Near to slightly below normal temperatures persist in the marine layer this week," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Sunday. "Warm and dry conditions continue above 1,000 feet."

In other news, a 13-year-old girl was struck by a bullet after it went through a wall from another room; a man said he fatally shot his brother; an at-risk missing man was found safe after traveling more than 150 miles; and a person was fatally shot near a college campus.

Plus, as schools reopen amid a national surge in measles cases, California students will continue to follow the state's existing vaccination requirements, despite President Donald Trump's latest effort to change the country's childhood vaccine schedule.
