BART's Powell Street Station Reopens

SAN FRANCISCO, CA —Police activity that shut down a portion of San Francisco's Market Street and entrances to the Powell BART station has concluded this morning, police said.
San Francisco police had initially reported on Twitter at 8:29 a.m. about the activity that shut down the 700 block of Market Street between Third and Fourth streets.
BART officials said the entrances to the Powell station at Fourth and Market streets and Ellis and Stockton streets were also closed.

Police wrote in an update at 9:02 a.m. that the area had been deemed safe and is being reopened.
No information on the nature of the police activity was immediately available.
