Coronavirus: Another Convention Canceled At Moscone Center

San Francisco has banned large gatherings in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Tech giant Amazon announced Wednesday that it has canceled a convention planned at Moscone Center in San Francisco next month, the latest event cancellation amid widespread concern over the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

Amazon Web Services' AWS Summit San Francisco 2020 was scheduled for April 14, but the company said it has been canceled "after careful review of the current situation with COVID-19 in San Francisco and listening to the guidance provided by the local authorities."

The company said the summit will instead take place in May as a "fully digital experience" with product announcements, educational and technical content and other programs. More specifics will be released in the coming weeks, according to Amazon.
